Being able to see the newborn babies was so much fun, as was being able to see and learn about the premature babies in NICU. It was interesting to see a baby that could nearly fit in the palm of your hand.

I really enjoyed touring the Children's Hospital. I think the lay out of the hospital and the idea of making it a place for families to have quiet times in the gardens and in family rooms is really nice. Dr. Warren did a great job of allowing us to see a patient's room and the difference between a more stable patient's room and a Critical Care Patient's room. I also enjoyed the NICU, I didn't know about the long lasting conditions that could result from premature birth, nor did I realize how small a baby could be and survive, it was incredible.

I loved the tour of the Children's hospital. The enitre hospital plan is so warm and welcoming. I also enjoyed the newborn baby rounds and the visit to the NICU. I was intrigued by what I saw and the facts that I learned. I had never before seen a baby so small, about the size of your hand, or a baby about an hour and a half after birth.

Hearing about the different types of surgeries. It was amazing to see the extreme problems the some babies are born with that were able to be fixed. In many cases parts of the GI tract that was not formed correctly were altered and completly fixed with little or no future problems.

Well, I would have to say that my most memorable moment was passing out on the floor of the newborn nursery! I also loved touring the Children's Hospital and seeing the newborn babies during rounds. My favorite part was probably seeing the premature baby in NICU - she was so tiny and I had never actually seen a person so small in real life.

My favorite part of our day at the Children's Hospital was the time we spent with Dr. Lovvorn. Althought it was just a slide show, his pictures and his commentary made it more insightful then I could have ever hoped for.
