While we may not be using them much now, if we were to actually go to Vanderbilt or have to write a paper or something the search engines we learned about would be very useful. I really liked the historical section of the library and seeing all the old books.
I agree with Jess. It can be hard to go in and appreciate the research aspect of medicine after such exciting days in the hospital...but I think it is really important for us to be reminded of that frequent, vital work required for such a career. So while today may have been less useful to us in terms of applying the new skills and knowledge, I think it definitely enlightened our scope of the medical role.
I really enjoyed the programs such as UptoDate and it's nice that so much of the Eskind Biomedical Library is available to students online from their dorms/houses/etc.
